Job Description

The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District has an opening for a Probationary Instrumental Music Teacher.   The successful candidate will need to:

• Experience directing band and conducting 1:1/group instrumental music lessons;
• Exceptional ability playing musical instruments;
• Passion for excellence, ability to inspire students, and strong performance skills;
• Exemplary instructional, classroom management, and organization skills;
• Ability to effectively manage several students and/or projects at the same time in a high-paced environment;
• Strong leadership skills, a devotion to excellence, and possession of interpersonal skills needed to build a positive rapport with students and parents;
• Willingness to work with different learning styles and student needs;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues and experience in working as part of a team;
• Strong commitment to professional learning and growth mindset;
• The ability to be an excellent role model for students, motivate students to put forth their best effort, and appreciate and reward individual progress.
