  • Accompany student-athletes with visual impairments during practices, workouts, and competitions;
  • Provide clear verbal instructions and guidance regarding terrain changes, obstacles, and course directions;
  • Maintain constant communication and establish trust and rapport with the runner you are guiding;
  • Adjust pace and level of assistance according to the runner’s preferences and abilities;
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the runner throughout practices and competitions.
