The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District has an opening for a Substitute Elementary School Psychologist.   The successful candidate will need to:

  • Possession of exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to select and administer age appropriate cognitive, behavioral and/or academic assessments to determine needs of a student;
  • Interpret assessment results and compile comprehensive psychological assessment reports that address reasons for referral and appropriate recommendations;
  • Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team and work as a team member in making placement decisions, developing intervention plans and planning programs to meet the needs of students;
  • Participate in eligibility, reevaluation, and other committees (CPSE or CSE) meetings to contribute to the development of an IEP, 504, or building plan;\
  • Consult and provide resources to administrators, teachers, staff, and families regarding the academic/psychological needs of students;
  • Collaborate to provide in-service training and workshops regarding mental health issues, proper procedures for referrals and presentation of data as determined by building or district administration.

Probationary Teacher AssistantMES11.2024

The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District has an opening for a Probationary Teacher Assistant.   The successful candidate will need to:

  • Strong emphasis on interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with students, teachers, and administrators;
  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter in assisting to determine and meet students’ needs;
  • An awareness on how a student’s positive self-esteem will affect their academic, social, and emotional development;
  • Experience and understanding of differentiated and blended learning;
  • Experience and willingness to work with different learning styles and learning needs;
  • Exceptional communication skills, collaborative, hardworking and nurturing;
  • Experience with co-teaching, good team player;
  • Able to build a positive rapport with students and parents;
  • Excellent written and verbal skills;
  • Able to manage several students and projects at the same time in a high-paced environment;
  • A two-year college degree is highly desirable. Emphasis in education coursework (as part of a college program is preferred).

Probationary Speech Language Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist - 2 PositionsMES9.1.2024-2U

The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District has openings for 2 Probationary Speech Language Therapists or Speech Language Pathologists.   The successful candidates will need to:

  • Experience with speech/language instruction in an elementary and/or preschool/Universal Pre-Kindergarten setting;
  • Experience with speech/language instruction in a special education setting;
  • Experience and willingness to co-instruct/co-teach young learners with general education or special education teachers in an elementary setting;
  • Strong knowledge base of speech and language developmental milestones;
  • Specialty in phonemic awareness skills and signs of apraxia preferred;
  • Training and qualification to instruct in IEP goals;
  • Experience and willingness to work with different learning styles and learning needs;
  • Must be able to support skills-based program of reading and writing instruction;
  • Must be able to support and work in a team-learning classroom setting;
  • Experience with Medicaid reimbursement.
